Hey Chris,
Quick question about your Onyx interface, have you ever heard it
record a short sharp burst of static when you press stop or punch out?
It's like a electronic spitting sound. Been doing a session in a
little studio that's running one of these boards this week and really
enjoying using it other than this glitch in the matrix. It's weird,
the issue isn't something I can hear happening at the time when I
actually hit stop, and it doesn't always happen either. The first time
I'll hear it is when I'm playing tracks back, but I've been for a poke
about in the audio folders for these projects and it's definitely made
it on to a lot of the files. I can edit as I go of course, but would
rather get to the bottom of why it happens and stop it. Tried swapping
out the firewire lead a couple of times with no difference. Not sure
what else could be causing it. It doesn't happen with any other
interface I've had plugged in via fw here, so probably not the actual
port. Then again, it doesn't happen at all when it's plugged in to the
machine of the guy who owns it, and our fw chipsets appear to be the
same from a quick google.
Any thoughts?
