Hi James,
Not supposed to get a shock.
Maybe your computer isn't grounded. smile.
If you opened Reaper and hear No Tracks Found, you got Reaper and
ReaAccess installed okay.
The first thing to do is to configure your audio and audio device, then
your midi device.
Every recording program has this required step.
Press the shortcut ctrl+P to get to options/preferences.
Arrow to audio; tab down and get your soundcard enabled.
Same when you arrow to midi devices, tab down and get the word Enabled
after your midi keyboard's name.
You basically need to route to your number pad, find the keyboard's name
there, and right click it.
A configure dialog appears.
Click on configure and it opens.
Put checkmarks with your space bar on use for midi, also on use for midi
control, if your midi keyboard has any knobs or faders that transmit
midi messages.
Then click on OK; tab down to Apply and OK and press enter on those.
You now can play soft synths, also called VSTI plugIns.
If you google with the word RWP archive, plus a question in a few words,
you access the years of archived emails answering almost any question
about reaper.
