[RWP] how does reaper save it's control surface assignments

The rumon I heard about that is that SSB drives erase unused cells in the 
background.  So, they get around the write speed issue by pre-erasing.  And 
they mimimize wearout by cycling deleted items to the back of the free space 
pool.
So, you won't use that cell again for a very long time.
Anyway,  maybe they don't all do that.
But, they sure are nice and snappy.
