Hi & Greetings from Down Under

Ripple Editing is accessed from the Key Command Alt plus P.

There are three Modes:
Ripple Off
Ripple Single Trak
Ripple All Trax

These should be spoken as you cycle thru.

Yes, you may have ripple editing on, which is causing that behaveor.
Ripple editing opens up existing items on the track to make room for
editing changes; so they can fit into the timeline, which might be
splitting the item on track 1.
Press f12 for learn mode to find the shortcut to toggle ripple editing
on and off; can't think of it at this moment; haven't waked up yet.
