[RWP] strange item editing behavia please help! kind regards trahern.

Are you selecting the item on the second track with either select+A or 
ctrl+right arrow; before you begin editing?
It sounds like the item on the first track is still selected; so is the 
item that is getting the editing.
  That's all I can think of that might be the cause; but it still 
doesn't explain the splitting of the item on the first track.
