I love my Edirol PCR-300, which has 50 assignable controls and 32 nice
firm action keys; with velocity and aftertouch.
Roy Shtupler and I have had ours for years.
Cakewalk and Roland have taken over now, and produce the same control
surface as A Pro 300.
There's a 49 key and 61 key version, if you need a larger keyboard.
They're not expensive, and come with a text-based editor where
everything speaks
There are only a couple of actions to save your settings you make with
the speaking editor; to the internal memory of the control surface.
where you need to count button pushes.
