Hi,
Go to www.reaper.fm and download the 32 bit Reaper for XP and the 64 bit
Reaper for Windows 7 64 bit.
Install Reaper and open, then close it once.
Then download ReaAccess at:
www.reaaccess.com
  and install it.
Make sure there's a checkmark on whatever screenreader you intend to use.
Now, go to Reaper; click that you are still evaluating; then press
ctrl+P to go to options/preferences.
Arrow to Audio Device.
Tab down and enable your audio interface.
To get the word Enabled after the name of your audio device; your
soundcard; you need to route the soundcard name or the word Disabled
over to your number pad; by whatever method your screenreader requires;
right click on Disabled, and the Configure Device dialog pops up.
Click on it; and place a checkmark with your spacebar on : Use This
Device; then click on okay.
You will be taken back to track view.
You can insert an empty track with ctrl+T.
When you have multiple tracks, select any particular track by arrowing
up or down to it.
At your tab key you can arm the selected track for recording.
You also need to select an output for that track, probably your soundcard.
The recording method probably should be input.
To keep these track settings, press enter before exiting back to track view.
Plug a microphone into your soundcard.
You should hear yourself.
To record onto the empty track, press R.
To stop recording either press R or the spacebar.
Rewind to the beginning of the track with either the home key; or the
letter W.
Press spacebar to play the recording.
I hope this gets you going.
Feel free to ask questions on RWP, someone there usually can suggest an
answer.
