[RWP] duplicating a loop in reaper

I know we're supposed to dread doing drag and drop, but cut and paste
requires so many more steps sometimes.
In Cockos Edit Items, I found that you can certainly select a midi or
audio loop, cut or copy it to clipboard, them position the cursor where
you want it copied and then paste, again and again, counting over to the
beginning of the next measure where the previous loop ended, and pasting
again, etcetera.
Ho hum, I'm getting sleepy, just thinking about it.
.
But, to drag an item to duplicate the loop, you just move the cursor
back a little, until it's over the end of the loop, hold left mouse
button, then move the mouse to where you want all the duplicate loops to
end and let go of the mouse button.
Now, doesn't that seem less painful?
Before I waste time trying it, has anyone here done it?
I know how to creat a drag mark in Wineyes, and I'm wondering if just
creating the drag beginning mark, pressing the page down key the number
of measures I want the song to extend, then doing the shortcut to drop
will suffice?
Any previous experience, duplicating a loop with drag/drop; either in
Wineyes or Jaws, anyone?
Thanks,
Indi
