[RWP] ReaAccess Question.

I'm a retro type, so I run Reaper version 4.32 on XP, with an older
version of Wineyes: version 6.1.
Why don't I run a later Wineyes?
Version 6.1 was written for XP, and works perfectly with it, why bother
with later versions that were written for Windows 7?
Wineyes speaks everything in Reaper; I have no problem finding VST synth
and FX plug parameters, configuring tracks for recording audio or midi,
editing any event in midi, quantizing, etcetera.
I use the workArounds that have been discovered to overcome actions that
got broken in Reaper versions after version 4.
If I didn't want to use those, workArounds; Reaper versions like 3.78
work perfectly well in XP, and some folks are sticking to those versions.
Now, another topic, Wineyes refuses to run Reaper 64 in Windows 7 64.
Boo hoo; I wish it did, but I stick to XP for now.
If I really cared about running Reaper in Windows 7 64, I'd run it with
NVDA, which is free; wonderfully quick and stable; and has no problems
with Reaper 64.
With no scripts at all, you can do everything in Reaper 64 with NVDA.
Its numPad screen review is a little more work to use than Wineyes and
Jaws PC cursors are; But you almost never need to go to your number pad
in Reaper, so NVDA works fine.
I'm also sticking to Sonar 8.5.3 in XP, and not eating my heart out for
Sonar X2.
It's so much less stress to use what works, instead of beating my head
against a brick wall over what doesn't work.
I can't fly a Boeing 747; or become an astranaut; but it really doesn't
bother me that I can't.
I prefer the cup half full instead of the cup half empty.
My next learning experience will be running Sonar 8.5.3 in XP with NVDA
plus the new Sonar app, plus JSonar scripts.
I never was happy not being able to utilize Sonar's good features, and
NVDA plus scripts seems the solution.
Use whatever works.
If you're somewhere and need to nail two boards together, and don't have
a hammer, find a rock.
