[RWP] izeitope style stutter edites with reaper?

I didn't believe it was the most convenient method, but thought it was
still possible.
I definitely remember placing a 1 shot loop onto a midi keyboard key; in
Sonar 8.5.3's matrix view; and set the loop triggering method so it
didn't just play through; but retriggered with each key press.
Of course, that's primitive stuttering; compared to what I hear now in
pop hits.
I'm still listening for the pop song I heard recently; which seems to
have sliced up a vocal phrase and reassembled it to make bizarre
nonsense words, in no recognizable language, an absolutely wild sound.
In Reason; I have used Doctor Rex Player to slice up vocals, then played
the words in another order from the keyboard, even playing some words in
reverse, but this one I heard goes beyond what I think Doctor Rex can
do; might be crossfading beginnings of words into endings of other
words, or some such studio magic.
I believe you can also do Akai sampler style primitive stuttering in
Doctor Rex.
