[RWP] Running 32 bit plugs in Win7 64 with Reaper 64?

By the way, I've gotten the card to be ignored even disabling it in windows, and not at the bios level, but it's better if you do go to the bios or uefi, if you can.

I speak from experience, because I was having a conflict with another sound device, and needed to disable the realtech,
and when I didn't have sighted help to get in the bios, uninstalling the realtech software, and disabling the audio device in windows did the trick nicely.

I could plug stuff in the jacks all day long, and no reaction.

We have to do it this way sometimes on daws, for instance, most video cards with hdmi come with a built in audio card.

There's no place in the bios to disable this on a add-in card, so you have to do it in windows so it won't take up valuable resources.

Not if the sound card is disabled at the hardware level and there are no drivers installed.

This isn't about win7 anyway, this is a function of the software for the realtech cards.

Win7 absolutely does care if you take the cable out. Or to be more accurate,
it is set up for "jack detection," which you can turn on or off in the
stupid proprietary control panel applet for whatever horrifying onboard chip
    you have.
