[RWP] making reaper a slave to my hardware midi sequencer?

hey all  i’m running the latest version of reaper on windows 7 64bit.How do i slave reaper to my hardware midi sequencer so that the bpm signal it sends to reaper shows up in the bpm text box in project settings? and after doing this if i save the project then change reaper back to be the master will the project tempo be the same as it was when reaper was the slave? your help with this question would be most welcome kind regards trahern.
