I hear ya talkin little buddy.
You can do the same things audio wise with sonar but it takes more steps, I do not like that clips pane.
Now we supposedly have up to date audio editing, with x2, but the access is the big deal.
Even though I came late to the reaper party, I do love it's audio editing.
Mostly I'm correcting timing issues and such with it for my singer song writers who tend to have their own internal playing time which doesn't corrolate with the rest of the universe 'grin', but hey, it works so nicely, taking little bites out of a file and putting it back together is so tasty with reaper, even better than with soundforge.

And I might consider using Sonar if editing audio was as nice as it is
in Reaper. Considering that's mostly what I do, as I'm an audio guy
first, midi/softsynths are way back there somewhere in priority, that
isn't currently happening. Why must everything suck on all platforms?
