Hi:
I use the pcie had cards and have a lot of their plugs. Once you get through the registration process of the card itself, you can buy plugs and update your license. The software for all the plugs is actually installed on your system and you can try them out for 30 days. I use it with Sonar, but it would probably be even better with reaper because you would be able to access all the parameters at once instead of four at a time. And the stuff sounds great. Lots of great reverbs, channel strips, vintage echo devices and choruses, and tape decks and moog filters and a nice guitar amp simulator, they have a bass amp one too. You really can't beat it. I don't have the appollo series because I have enough audio interfaces around and firewire is kind of on its way out anyway, it's just too fickle and usb3 is becoming more viable. I guess if I were doing a lot of live recording of bands and stuff, it might be nice to have the plugs monitored directly through the interface, but I don't even know if that would be accessible. Their control meter and console is only accessible with OCR, and works better with nvda than jaws if you're comfortable with object navigation and have VMouse installed.
