Hi Leonard,
Answers below each of your questions:
1. Is there any chance that ReaAccess 2.0 will ever see the light, or
is the project simply and entirely dead?
At this point, nobody to my knowledge has managed to get a response
from Ivan (the ReaAccess developer) for well over a year. There were
all kinds of rumours about ReaAccess 2.0 at one stage, but even those
have faded over time. I think that right now, it's safe to say that
ReaAccess is not under active development, and that it's unlikely Ivan
has plans for future versions.
2. is there any chance that ReaAccess' sourcecode will be open sourced
whenever development is ceased for good by the original author(s)?
In a word, no. Some of us tried to get this to happen back when
development was still active, mainly to avoid the situation we're in
now, but the developer wasn't receptive to the idea.
Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but that's where we stand.
