[RWP] poise

NO it's the best thing since canned beer, been around since the 90s, works on all versions of windows.
and is free.

It's sort of the perfect thing for a sort of kind of programmer like me who's learning, but what's great about it is when you screw up it'll correct you, and it auto-generates code and you can compile it to an exe.

It's just a text file otherwise,
you edit which can either run like that if you install the autohotkey, or for those who don['t have it installed the .exe files will run.

www.autohotkey.com

The one draw back to it is it doesn't have the tight integration to individual screen-readers
like jaws scripts or window-eyes scripts or python might with nvda, but there are ways to make things speak,
and you can call certain system functions with ahk you can't with jaws or we scripts.

When I was doing my access dev, I chose this tool precisely because I didn't want just a blindie tool, one which would work with a lot of different stuff and not tie your hands.

Some of the reaper folks have been making ahk scripts for some plugs, I've only done them for sonar so far, but at some point I might tackle some for reaper, but programming is way down my list right now the studio is busy.

But what might take me a week to do, Shannon could probably bang out in 30 minutes,
the manual is great and there are lots of good examples to get you started.

I will have to learn more about this thing. I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm quick to learn.
And I have a motto, if I don't know how to do it, just hire someone who does.

But if this auto hot key program would make it easier for him to work, let's go that route until you can do something more permanent. Do we need to install it on our machines as well? How much does it cost, where to get it, blah blah blah. LOL

I think some of the problem when we talk to the developers is that we forget that they don't know how to use our software. I think that would probably help them to understand how to help us better if they can speak our language.

I'm just trying to see if I can poke around and accidentally make something happen that could hold us over until the next version comes. I'm also poking around to see if there's any more information that I can give him that might help him figure out exactly what we need.
