I think NVDA works everywhere in Reaper.
When I didn't know how to use NVDA, I thought Jaws and Window-Eyes were
better when enabling midi devices in Reaper's Options/Preferences, but
now I much prefer doing it in NVDA.
The NVDA numpad insert plus the numpad enter is hugely powerful.
It often acts as a right click; and otherwise activates a button or link
that is in focus.
Yes, NVDA has object navigation; its own version of the Jaws cursor, or
Wineyes mouse pointer, and you can pretty much do everything, and find
anything on a page.
Sometimes a button will elude NVDA's ability to find it, but that also
happens to the other screenreaders at times.
Often NVDA really shines, and comes through when the others cannot.
I don't have the link at hand, but go to the NVDA website and really
learn how to use object navigation.
