[RWP] chuseing and audio interface for reaper

Just went and read about this little mixer.

I like the 100 mm faders, and the board sounds great.
but the sound card implementation is limited, you get a stereo mix down and
aux 3 and 4 but not all channels can be recorded as separate tracks like on
the mackie.
that's why this thing is so much less.

Even the little mackie's will record all channels descretly as individual
tracks for mixing in the daw.

I wish though that the lesser mackies delow the 1640i would have given you
more than one stereo return from the daw.

the 1640i gives you 16 going both ways.

That's a lot to ask of usb.

but still, getting inserts and mid sweeps, and 24 channels is a lot of bang
for the buck at 7 bils for the allen and heath board.

I hope this trend of combining decent boards and audio interfaces together
keeps on, it makes things a hell of a lot easier for us blind guys.

I didn't look, but how bout fantom power, is it global, the mackie has
fantom separately adjustable for each channel.

Also the big one has 4 band parametric eq with two mid sweets and a low and
high shelf.

Really sweep, but 15 bills is a lot of clams fora hobiest to cough up first
time around.

I do this for a living, and having 6 aux sends and 4 sub mixes, and each
channel recorded separately is pretty much a must for me, hell, a drummer
will take up 7 to 10 channels alone just for his own self sometimes
