I Kevin, so 600 dollars isn't back for a board sound card combo.

Does each channel get recorded as a descrete track?

Most of the lower end mixers that are usb only give you the option to record
a mix down, maybe a few other options, but that's pretty much it.

16 bit recording these days is pretty behind the times, and you'll want that
extra resolution when you start applying effects, but you can indeed do some
decent recording with 16 bits if you keep your levels hot but you'll get
more rounding errors when processing.

But it's less than half the price of the mackie, and alen and heath has
always had a great rep.

Does it support both asio and wdm?

Seems to me if it's only doing 16 bit through usb, it might just be using
the standard windows wdm driver.

Did you have to install extra drivers for it or does it show up as a class
compliant device?
