[RWP] need some VST recommendations

I understand your english just fine.
Well, if you have your Kronos enabled, you find the word enabled after
its name in ctrl+P midi devices.
Yes, you can test to learn if midi is going from the Kronos to reaper by
inserting a synth.
In track view, either press alt to display menus, arrow right to insert,
arrow down to virtual instrument, and press enter.
or, use the shortcut ctrl+insert.

That is the insert key above your arrow keys, not the insert at the
bottom left of the number pad.
Next Go to your tab key and find the VSTI folder, which should have
ReaSynth, and press enter on it.
Now, ReaSynth is not an exciting synth , but it always works to play
oscillator tones, if your keyboard is sending midi.
You will need to arm the track where ReaSynth is displayed.
Arrow up or down to that track . to select it

Then press your tab key until you hear Arm For Recording, and press
spacebar to hear the word on.
Then tab down until you find Input Source.
Arrow to your Korg Kronus, which should be named as an input source if
it is enabled correctly in options/preferences.
Then press enter to save your settings.
Now, you should hear the ReaSynth toot, toot, when you press the Kronus
keys.
When you insert a midi file in Insert Media, you can arrow to the track
with the midi file named, then tab to output source and select the
Kronus as the output source.
Press enter to save the setting.
Now, the midi file should play preset sounds within the Kronus.

So, now you have confirmed that midi is both coming from the Kronus, and
being sent to the Kronus.
Please, anyone help if I got any of this wrong, It's late and I'm very
sleepy.

By the way, I have heard that the Korg touch screens are not the most
accessible, but some people have pasted dots onto points that stay in
the same place as you navigate.
For points on the screen that move around, I don't know what to do,
maybe you can find them with a light probe.
I've used a light probe to tell if led's are lit up.
If you can navigate around the Kronus with buttons, use those instead of
the touch screen,

I use the E-Mu 1616M sound card, and love its clear sound, but its
PatchMix control panel is not accessible.
You can load a session template by going to C:\program files,Creative
Professional\ and I think device, then arrow down to session templates,
Choose a session template for the 1212M.

The ones titled default factory session are a agood beginning.
Its bit depth and sample rate should match what you intend to record at
in Reaper.
Choose 24 bits, and 44.1K is a good starting point for recording
Press enter on that session template and it will load.
Use alt+F4 to close and return to your desktop

You will need to press ctrl+P to go to reaper options/preferences and
arrow to audio, then audio device.
In audio, choose ASIO as your audio driver.

in Audio Device, do the same as you did for the Korg Kronus, you tab
down until you hear the inputs and outputs of your E-Mu 1212m, and make
sure they're selected .
You can choose the first input to the last input you want to use.
You can also select which outputs you use.
I can only get output a u x 15 as the first output, and a u x 16 as the
last output.
Hopefully you will be luckier, and get more outputs.
Before exiting, press enter on apply, and okay.
.
.. good luck,
Indigo L
