Hay Daniel, the simpliest way to use QWS with Reaper is to import MIDI files of QWS as the MIDI tracks in Reaper.
QWS is very usefull when i choose patches in some VSTIs of Reaper, for instance Korg Wavestation or Steinberg Hypersonic. I will describe this procedure if you need it.
As to external editor, this option of Reaper is only for audio, for instance you can choose Sound Forge or IZotope RX as the 2nd audio Editor, but it is not for MIDI.
