Also,...inside reaper there is a very useful plugin 
called,..."ReaControlMIDI"...
This "Cockos" plugin, will help you to control any midi instruments 
that you have plugged into reaper,...just press the "f" key while you 
are focused on any track,...and the menu will appear,...tab up twice, 
and choose "Cockos",...Tab down once, and choose the "ReaControlMIDI" 
plugin,...then you can choose the settings for that particular track...

One thing to remember though, is to have any ".ins" files installed 
into the reaper folder on your computer...

First go to the folder called "Installed Data",....Then go to the 
folder called "Data",...and install any ".ins" files you have for your 
midi devices in there...

I use this plugin regularly,...It works very well...
