Thank you Jim, the moral support has cheered me up. It's nice to know that even someone like yourself has PC woes from time to time.

If you are finding the learning curve a bit steep, don't feel bad. It's not like any of it is crystal clear. And, there are far too many switches and options, with strangely named titles. You can feel a bit aggrivated, if you like. And, you would have plenty of company if you do that.

I guess you are trying to select the inputs for a track recording? Arrow to the track, and explore the context menus, by hitting the applications key. You can select the input hardware from there.
Later Reaper versions seem to cause ReAccess some problems with applications menus. Those of us who don't enjoy work arounds when they bring no discernable benefit have tended to stick with the older versions, 3.76 3.78, something like that.

I would like to think that, accessible, means you don't have to struggle to learn how to use it. But, it usually means, if you spend your whole life poking and prodding, experimenting, and looking for work arounds, then, as long as your not in a big hurry, you can generally use most parts of the app. And here, maybe you'd also like to read this happy tutorial, sprinkled with groovy language about how intuitive and simple this is, and how much fun sighted people are having with it. That always makes me feel good.
Life in the fast lane. How can I stand it.

Ggot the DP working with a click script, so thanks for that. As for the ins thing, when I press control T to insert a new track, it has, in 1, set as default. I need, in 2, because that is the one on my AI that has a HiZ switch for electric guitars, which is what I use most of the time. And of course I also need to change it to midi for soft synths. I've been finding it with the jaws cursor and right clicking it to open the menu, but it's a slow process. I just wondered if there were a shortcut for opening that same menu that has all the audio and midi input options that are available through the AI.

Hi & Greetings from ‘Down Under’

My apologies, I thought you were asking about Sends / Returns & Routing. When you say you are trying to Set Ins, can you give me an example of what you are trying to do, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

The Dialog Box that appears after you stop Recording, is a Confirmation Dialog Box. As REAPER has the ability to Record many takes, the Dialog asks if you wish to Save all that you recorded, Delete Some or Delete All.

Kind regards

Couple of issues with the FX window. Having trouble accessing the presets in some of the FX plugins, particularly the soft synths. When I tab to the presets combo, if I up down arrow I get no preset or factory default but nothing else. If I press page down I sometimes get into the list where I can up down arrow. But in the soft synths, e.g, rae synth, I get nothing no matter what I do. how do I access the presets for soft synths? I also have dimension pro installed and it is in the list, but again I don't seem to be able to figure out how to access the presets.
Another issue I'm having is that sometimes after I choose a preset and go back to the track view, if I then change my mind and want to choose a different effect, pressing F sometimes reopens FX window, but sometimes I just stay in the track view, and so tabbing just takes me through the track buttons instead of the FX controls. If I do a jaws cursor to read the screen, it appears as if the FX window is still open but I just can't tab through anything.
Off topic, but another issue I'm having is how to set ins. Pressing I opens the i/o window but there doesn't appear to be any way to select inputs from there, just sends, receives and outputs etc. The only way I can do it is to use jaws cursor to find the word, in 1, which is just after the track title, then right clicking it to bring up a menu. Is there a better way than this because it seems so clumsy. One last thing, what's that dialogue that appears when you press spacebar to stop recording, asking to save files? Is it correct to just hit enter on that or what?
Any help would be great thanks.
