[RWP] Is anyone using Reaper on the mac?

I have just started using Reaper on my macbook today and I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips.
I have managed to arm a track and record some piano but, when I select another track and start recording it wipes out the original instead of playing along with it.
I seem to remember that on the windows version, Reaper opend up on the track field showing the bar numbers.
It looks good and I really would like to use it if I can.
I haven't bought it yet, does this make a difference to how it works?
