I just updated my off line daw's Reaper to version 4.31, and I believe
it has more Midi CC's assigned than the previous version I was using;
sorry I forgot to write down the previous version's number, maybe 4.25.
My daw runs 32 bit XP, and Window-Eyes 6.1, and David Shortland's fix to
use Reaper's built in midi editor works exactly the same in 32 bit XP,
running Wineyes; as it does in 64 bit Reaper; running NVDA 2012 and
System Access, probably the same in Jaws, haven't had a chance to try it
in Jaws yet.
Reaper's built in midi editor is vastly superior to the midi inline
editor brought up with ReaAccess shortcut ctrl+enter.
In XP, the inline editor does display, but has far fewer selections than
the built in midi editor, which will be my choice from now on.
Here are the shortcuts to use the built in midi editor:
Select the midi track and item.
Press ctrl+alt+E, for the built in Editor.
Press alt+V for the View submenu.
In the view menu, Arrow up/down to Mode Event List; and press enter.
Mode Event List remains selected, even after you exit Reaper.
You now can arrow up/down to each event list along the time line.
Each event list is numbered according to position.
To edit events at any position, choose a position, with up/down arrows
and press ctrl+F2.
At your tab key you now have all the events at that position displayed
and their name is spoken; with the event type position as thedefault type.
Select the event type with your up/down arrow keys.
Tab down to get a value edit box at your arrow keys.
If note is selected as type; you'll find note number, length, channel,
velocity, etcetera.
After editing, tab down to apply and okay, and press enter to save your
edits.
