I know that GoldWave has a convenient search it does for the latest lame
encoder.
You go to Goldwave batch converter; in its file menu, then try to
convert a wav file to mp3.
GoldWave says it can't find the lame encoder, and asks if you want
GoldWave to find it for you.
You say yes, and it takes about half a minute.
You can then go to the GoldWave folder and copy/paste the lame encoder
it finds anywhere it's needed.
Yes, if I kept up on lame encoders, so knew the name and version of the
latest version, I wouldn't need to search for it with GoldWave, but it's
very convenient for me.
