[RWP] bypassing a track effect for certain items, is it possible?

Would cloning the track, then deleting the compresser and all unwanted
items on the new track be saying the same thing?
So far I have done more deleting than moving, but is probably not more
efficient.
At my stage, I'm more into understanding the procedure and getting it to
work every time, efficiency is waiting till later. smile.
