[RWP] The ctrl+alt+X Media Browser's Not For Me

I've definiely cooled on my initial enthusiasm, thinking I'd got a 
shortcut to the familiar Reaper Media folder I navigate so easily with 
Windows Explorer.
When I hit ctrl+alt+X and quickly shift tab, sometimes I get the My 
Documents/Reaper Media folder, and sometimes the Dump folder on my 
desktop, other times I couldn't tell where I was.
2 or 3 tries with ctrl+alt+X and I'd finally get Reaper media, I shift 
tab up and find the names Reaper Media, and the subfolders I placed in 
there, but I can't enter the sub folders, let alone back out of them.
To play a .wav file I have to tab down to the shortcuts list, E.G., 
play, stop, pause, select play with spacebar in Jaws, then tab back up 
and find files to play
This is definitely not Sound Forge's media selector.
Using the regular method of inserting  media in Reaper with ctrl+mid 
insert key, I return to the last folder I was in.
I have a huge number of midi files and loops, and keep them in a folder 
off my desktop, not in the Reaper Media folder.
Yes, If I'm inserting media into my project with ctrl+mid insert key, I 
can't preview them by playing them, Sound Forge style. I'll make a 
little macro to navigate to my Reaper Media Folder, and  another for my 
own media folder, outside of Reaper.in Windows Explorer.
Once in those folders, I can play files with winamp, even arrow through 
a list of files with winamp playing; and it interrupts play of the 
previous file and begins the one I'm arrowed to currently, like in Sound 
Forge.
When inside a media folder in Windows Explorer, it's so easy just to tab 
back and forth between there and Reaper.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'll bet you could be in the same folder 
inside Reaper and outside reaper in Windows Explorer, and tab back and 
forth. All I lack is a quicker way to navigate outside of Reaper to the 
Media folder.
Any macro program can do that in a few minutes of configuration, and you 
always end up where you intended
This is not  the usual simple intuitive Reaper.
