Hi Colin,
When performing that little enable midi device work around, you need to
find the device name at the number pad; then right click to bring up
the configure midi device dialog.
Maybe you could go through the midi device enabling actions again and
write out a tiny tutorial, with the required Jaws commands listed?
I think that 1 little stumbling block is the qwerkyest procedure in Reaper.
Screen reader specific procedures don't seem to be needed anywhere else.
I've looked at many places with Jaws 13 demo, Wineyes and NVDA, and
what's displayed seems about the same.
Hoping they will apply for someone somewhere, I always relate whatever
work arounds I discover.
For instance, earlier today in Reaper version 4.21, trying to get the
advanced track options menu where stereo must be selected to avoid a
mono audio recording; I noticed that after pressing ctrl+right arrow on
the track; which normally moves to the first recorded item on that
track, of course I heard No Item Found, because nothing was recorded.
And yet, just as if an item was present, I first pressed ctrl+up arrow
to allow menus to display;then pressed the applications key; to get the
extended track properties menu, which begins with the words:
Monitor Input M.
if I'm too slow to press the applications key I get the wrong menu.
Once I'm quick enough at pressing the applications key I arrow down and
press enter on Input Stereo, then press enter again until I return to
the track view, and Reaper then records audio in stereo
If someone else has found an easier method of switching from mono to
stereo audiorecording, please tell me.
As in other Reaper versions, though, once I get that extended track
options menu to open, ctrl+up arrow doesn't seem to be required again.
Menus seem to display from then on in that session.
Now, I've got to go back to that same situation and learn how to always
get that other item edit menu to display
