hello Joe,
Basically, the master track is there to apply adjustments to the
entire project, rather than just a specific track. Let's say, for
example, that you wanted your song to fade out at the end, you would
apply this to the master track rather than each track individually,
which would save you a lot of time and effort. Applying affects, such
as EQ and compression to your master track can also help your project
sound more like one performance, rather than a bunch of individually
recorded instruments and vocals.
