A Few Tips On Running Reaper:

Track Property List:
In Reaper's track view, when you open Reaper; you get a list of track
properties, like pan, mute, solo, volume, record armed on or off,
etcetera, at your tab key.
Tab to a selection, set the property with your spacebar, or with your
arrow keys, and make sure to press enter to save your settings.

Track Properties SubMenu:
Besides those track properties, select a track by arrowing up or down to
it, then press the applications key, next to the right hand
control key.
A menu should open with more track properties, some duplicated in the
track properties available at the tab key.
Some of the track properties in this sub menu are more powerful than
ones available at the tab key.
Like, if you choose record mode input at the tab key, from the
applications key sub menu you can choose input midi, or input audio,
which sets whether it's midi or audio you're recording on that track.
There are more selections in this menu; most of which are obvious as to
their purpose.

To edit track Item:
If you have recorded material on a track, called an item, you arrow to
that track to select it, then press Control+right arrow, which selects
that item.
Then press enter and a track item edit dialog appears at my Window-Eyes
number pad; probably also in Jaws, with a list of item properties you
can edit.
There is an okay button at the bottom of the list to save your edits.

Midi Editing:
  If you are working with a midi track, select it with arrow up or down;
press the W key to go to start of track.
Then press Control+enter to open the midi edit pane.
You will be positioned on the very first midi event on that track, which
sends program number and bank data, to choose which GM instrument the
track plays.
At your tab key you will find program number, which you can change, and
bank number, which can be changed also, though you might not need to.
Hold the control key and right arrow to move to the next event on that
track.
At the tab key, it's pretty much obvious what that event is, it's named,
and all values are editable.
Continue to move right along the time line with Control+righ arrow and
you reach note events, with the note at that position named, C, D E F
sharp, whatever
While focused on the note name, up or down arrow to raise or lower that
note, or type in a different note name.
Below the note name at the tab key is that note's octave, with the
octaves name; as found on a piano keyboard.
Select a lower or higher octave to transpose the note by octaves.
Tab down to find to note on, note velocity, note length.
Edit any of these values in edit boxes at your arrow keys.
stop on any note you want to edit, then press Control+enter to open
the Midi Edit Pane, and you should be positioned close to the note event
you want to edit.
Press the Escape key to return to track view.

IO Routing Dialog:
To set the track sends and receives, and other routing options, select a
track with up/down arrow keys.
Then press the letter I for IO dialog.
At your tab key you get a list of selections, all pretty obvious what
they do.
After making selections, There is no okay button to save selections,
just press the escape key to return to track view.

Setting Sends and Receives in IO Dialog:
You can point the output of any track to any other track by either
setting a receive from the target track to the source track, or setting
send from the source track to the target track.
A track can contain notes, midi or audio data, an effect, anything can
go on a track
Reaper treats midi and audio the same.

ReaAccess Shortcuts:
You have a whole qwerty keyboard full of powerful shortcuts.
Press the F12 key to get Learning Mode, where the shortcuts speak their
purpose without carrying out their action.
Press F12 again to exit Learning Mode.

This is a tiny little Quick Start, sorry if you already knew all this
Please, everybody, write little guides on what you have learned to do in
Reaper, and post them here.
Soon we will have a website where these tips and guides will have a home.
