Hi Folks,
I haven't been posting recent breakthroughs on full access to Reaper
over here in RWP, because of its lack of room to attach files or post
manuals in the message body, but all you guys should be aware that
developers on www.midimag.org are just about to complete the final steps
to get us speech output from the Behringer BCF2000 control surface.
This will mean that we will hear all settings as we change them on the
control surface, including pans, track volumes, motorized and automated
changes; etcetera.
Also, extensive work has already been done in the Cockos Reaper forums;
by sighted users; to control Reaper with the Behringer BCF2000 control
surface, and now we are uniting the two streams of development into a
full talking access to Reaper.
Although Midimag has been mainly centered around Sonar, lately many
folks there are using Reaper, and we're getting more equal consideration
of Reaper issues there.
The same team is also developing speech access to Sonar, and speech
access to other daws will follow, I'm sure.
You can find and download Klinke's plug to set up the Behringer BCF2000
to run Reaper at:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=33149
To download software and user guides needed to get the BCF2000 talking
as it runs Reaper, you really should subscribe to MidiMag, which you can
get to at:
www.midimag.org
I'm sorry that I can't help with the process of subscribing to the
midimag mail list, it's been so long since I did it I've totally
forgotten the process, but I'm sure you can find it.
This is an exciting breakthrough in access, which should greatly extend
what we get from ReaAccess alone, and I myself have a BCF2000 on the way
from ZZounds, $170 USD and free shipping in the US, when you mention
that Newegg.com has the BCF2000 for $174.99, free US shipping; which is
I believe the lowest price on the web.
