There's no difference in Reaper between audio and midi tracks.
You can even record both audio and midi on the same track.
You need to configure your audio sound card in Reaper's Options Preferences.
There are several ways to reach Options Preferences.
You can press F10 to drop the menus, then arrow left to options, then
arrow up to preferences and press enter.
In Windoweyes and Jaws, at your number pad you can find a list of the
topics available in preferences
Left click any topic to select it.
Go to your tab key and tab down to reach various choices in that topic.
To configure audio, select the audio topic, tab down until you get to
the edit boxes to configure Reaper to work with your sound card.
If Reaper sees your sound card, you will hear the name of your sound
card, followed by the word Disabled.
To get your sound card enabled, focus on its name, with the arrow keys,
then route to the mouse pointer or PC cursor at the number pad, which is
a similar procedure for both Wineyes and Jaws.
Then go to the number pad and find the sound card's name, and right
click on it.
Go back to the arrow keys and press enter on Enable, or configure audio
source.
If your sound card is configured, the word Enabled will appear after
the name of your sound card.
After your sound card is enabled, be sure to click apply and okay.
With an audio source plugged into your sound card, insert a track.
Arrow up or down until you're on that track and follow the same track
configuration steps as for midi recording.
