Guys,
I have been away for a while, and have not gotten round to trying the things
suggested about my old Peavy Studio Mix. I feel remiss. I really
appreciate the suggestions, and am going to oke into this soon.. Those of
you who have the courage to go slumming in the Coccos forums, and other
places that sightlings speak their visual language about things, try to
decod ethem, and bring them back here, translated into our particular
language have my heart-felt gratitude.
Patrick asked which Peavey this is. On the front, it just says Peavey
Cakewalk Studio Mix.
There might be a model number on the bottom, but I didn't feel like dragging
it out enough to look. If you need to know, I'll make the sacrifice.
<grin>
It's got 8 motorized faders, not sure how far they travel, but I would say
medium range. Also has two rows of knobs, 8 knobs per row, a jog wheel,
plus a builtin microphone preAmp and very simple analog mixer.
The next trick will be to learn which controller messages it sends. I wrote
a midi snooper for my old DOS machine. Are there any midi data snoopers for
windows? I actually have an old DOS machine that can still run it. but, It
will be a miracle if I an get it to boot, much less remember how to run it.
<grin>
Anyway, thanks to all, and I'll report back soon about progress.
