[RWP] setting a USB input?

actually, it wasn't that complicated after all.
I typically use WDM kirnal for my sound driver because it seems to have the
lowest latency on my machine.
With that device, only the regular onboard soundcard and the "USB audio
device" were showing up.
I switched the driver to direct sound, and suddenly, "mustang amplifier"
showed up in the audio input list. I simply hit enter on mustang amplifier,
and everything works now.
Although, the latency from the amp via USB is just as bad, if not a bit
worse than going through my soundcard line in jack.
I was hoping that it would be reduced to minimal latency.
However, the audio is excellent through the USB input. Although, the level
is rather low compared to line level..about 6 or 7DB down from normal unity
input...I checked in my windows volume control and although I can find the
mustang amp device in recording properties, it doesn't have any controls to
adjust.
No big deal, with massive headroom in reaper, I simply need to increase
volume by 7 DB to get a good unity level...and anything beyond that is easy
with over plus30DB of clean headroom.

Now if only fender was good enough to make the mustang into a midi device
and offer all the patches as plugins or something...they kind of do that,
but it's with their own fuse software, written in silverlite and completely
inaccessible with JFW or wineyes.

Regards
Colin
