[RWP] Links to run Reaper from BCF2000 control surface

Chris, ssory I only just remembered this message -- the list has been busy
on top of my usual inbox traffic.

I have the RME UFX, which has a dSP chip to handle moniter routing, which
basically runs at 1 milli second latency or something, but it also has
another dsp chip for FX for those moniter mixes, but of course that's not
accessible. It works with both USB and firewire, it has two midi ins/outs,
and can opporate in stand alone mode controled either by rotery incoders on
the front (not so good for me) but also by the BCF 2000 via the midi port.
It also has a USB connection on the front, so you can record each channel of
digital audio running through it on to a hard drive.

Technically, the thing could never touch a computer and give loads of
functionality as a kind of digital mixer/basic hard disk recorder.

It has 4 onboard pre's with the usual line/di combo, 8 further ins, two
separate headphones outs, and a further 8 analogue outs, with two ADAT
connections and two channels of AES/EBU, or S/PDIF, I can never remember
which...the xlr looking thing. Obviously there are plenty of options for
clocking too.

I only really pulled the triggar on it as I got it from the States (I live
in Ireland) on Ebay for real cheap as I managed to avoid import tax, but
ever since I've been liking it more and more. I was going to go for a medium
format mixer and some kind of combination, but as it turns out, being
portable is the way I'm happier.

RME are quite responsive to user requests, and I did request some shortcut
functionality for their mixer software, and they recently added asignable
short cuts, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to address the problems I
mentioned when requesting the functionality. They update drivers every three
months it seems, and continue to do so for products they brought out ten
years ago, which is impressive to me.

That said, if it was stable, I would use anything to get audio in and out of
my computer really! lol

Brian.
