Hi Alexander,
one of Reaper installation options is Rearoot ASIO driver. We can use it for audio recording nonVST synths.
Here is my favourite example:
Grandorgue, sampler for organs and harpsichords;
QWS, MIDI sequencer;
Reaper.
We load one of nice free samplesets in GrandOrgue, create tracks for MIDI channels in QWS and choose Reaper ASIO for audio communication in GrandOrgue. Now we can compose MIDI tracks in QWS with sounds of classic organ/harpsichord. We choose Rearoot ASIO as input for Reaper audio track and arm it. Everything is ready, press record in Reaper and play in QWS.
GrandOrgue is free and has many interesting possibilities for tuning, taste it if you'd like to add real organs to your compositions.
Cheers,
Jinseng.
