Alexander, I 'm not saying it's better to choose all channels.
If you feel more comfortable setting to a particular midi channel 
number, you can do it that way.
The only time there will be a conflict is when you have the same soft 
synth, say it's Hornet, which is not polyphonic, so you must not send 
both channel 3 and 11 to the same instance of Hornet.
Now , if the synth was Cakewalk TTS, it can receive all 16 midi channels 
at once, and play a different instrument on each channel.
So, you could set a single track with TTS on it to all channels, and 
send all 16 midi channels to that single track with only 1 instance of 
TTS on it.
