I don't think it would make a difference whether you choose all channels
or 1 through 16.
Like, if I was inserting a not too large VSTI synthesizer called Dune,
and I wanted 4 instances of it, each on its own track.
I could insert the first Dune on track 1; and transmit to it on midi
channel 1; I could insert the second Dune on track 2' and transmit to it
on midi channel 2; etcetera.
The tracks could be set to receive on either midi channel 1 2 3 or 4; ,
or all 4 could be set to all channels, but there would be no conflict,
because each of the Dunes is receiving on a different midi channel, and
on a different track., and although their name is Dune, they are like 4
little kids all named Smith, but they aren't the same Smith.
Does your Tyros have a single button marked midi channel, with two
buttons next to it to increase or decrease the midi channel number.
I think the Motif is like that.
My MM6 is not as easy, I have to turn a wheel a certain number of
clicks, then use inc dec buttons to set the midi channel.
