It could happen if you are running 100 tracks full of plugIns on an
Atom powered netbook.
If your computer is powerful, with plenty of memory, maybe your hard
drives need defragmenting.
I use CCleaner, to clearn orphan files and tag ends of installers out of
the registry.
Despite propaganda claiming Windows cleans up after itself, the major
geeks don't think so, and neither do I.
CCleaner also cleans out all the temp files, sometimes hundreds of megs.
You can run virus scans. Microsoft Security Essentials is very good,
fast and effortless to use, also MalwareBytes is very thorough, and
they're very safe and free.
If all else fails there's Kaspersky Virus Killer and Mcafee Stinger, but
those don't seem to repair infected files, just delete them.
Reimage your whole computer if you keep an image on disc.
If you've been running Windows heavily for even a year or less; a clean
install of Windows fixes everything, but back up all important files
first, I like to keep important files on DVD's, they can't crash like
external disc drives.
