I knew this had to be somewhere in Reaper.
If you want to follow all the links to each detail of the procedure; go
to the link above.
It's a little disappointing to learn how many steps are required, but
maybe it'll improve in future versions.
As I thought, we don't have a shortcut assigned to Quantize to Grid, and
I think also Snap to Grid.

I found Quantize to Grid in the actions list and I'll post its number
later, maybe we can agree on a common shortcut for it.
I don't think I'll use this complex Audio Quantization that much.
Actually, if you have an acidized loop, I believe Reaper plays it at the
project tempo, same as Sony Acid Pro and Sonar.
You can also convert a music phrase to a Rex file and Reaper will play
it at the project tempo.

So, basically, I think you could take a fairly long music phrase and
acidize it to your Reaper project tempo and key; with Sound Forge; which
is very easy; then insert it into Reaper, and avoid this Audio Quantize
procedure in Reaper.

I tried to chase down the tap tempo puzzle, and learned that you can
either tap the audio track upp and down in tempo with the H key, or tap
the metronome up and down in tempo, but I never got them to sync perfectly
Nudgeing will align them at any particular moment, but if the music
phrase and the project tempo aren't the same, they'll eventually drift
out of sync.
Okay, Reaper isn't perfect yet.

I think the best use of snap to grid will be to snap the edge of an
inserted loop to the measure line.
