I think every Sonar user should try looking at plug presets in Reaper,
even if they prefer to continue using Sonar.
Use every tool available, right?
To get the Waves plugs to display their presets and parameters I would
expect to exercise your right hand quite a lot on the Route Jaws To PC
number pad screen.
Waves plugs are complex, and don't just fall open automatically at the
tab and middle arrow keys.
Have you tried your beautiful new 64 bit waves in Sound Forge yet?
Man, I love my ancient waves plugs in Sound Forge, v6 7 or 8, where they
feel right at home.
Maybe without someone spotting up every one of their presets and
parameters you won't hear so many real world parameter names spoken as
in Reaper's effects routing page, but you can hear changes as you make
them in Sound Forge, and what you hear is what counts.
One called Practice room, in a Reverb plug in the ancient Gold pack,
takes a lifeless drum loop and you'd swear he's drumming live; right in
front of you.
As long as I stick to 32 bit XP, my older waves will do.
Once I'm convinced of the superiority of 64 bit Windows, then maybe
I'll lust for those new Waves packs.
