[RWP] Cutting and Pasting Track Items

We were discussing bypassing certain track items, and I said I didn't
like the way type 0 midi files become an item on a synth ttrack, instead
of being placed on tracks of their own, as type 1 midi files do.
If I want to assign a send from that type 0 midi file to the synth on
that same track, what do I do?
You can assign sends and receives in Reaper's IO dialog to tracks, but
not to items.
So I selected its track, then cut the item away from that track, by
pressing ctrl+right arrow to jump to the first item, then ctrl+X to cut
the item to the clipboard, then ctrl+T to create a new empty track, then
ctrl+V to paste the item onto its own track.
Now that the item is separated from its original track you can assign
sends or receives to it, because it now belongs to its own track.
Separating track items onto different tracks also should let you bypass
some track items while processing others through effects.
I'm more and more aware of how much Reaper works like a word processer,
items are like words or phrases, ctrl+right arrow jumps to the next
item, ctrl+shift selects the next item, tracks are sort of lines, copy
and paste moves items around same as words or phrases, home and end take
you to beginning and end, page up and page down move by measures instead
of pages.
