I immediately saved David's tutorial on accessing Reaper actions, with a
hopefully informative title.
It's already included in a big bundle in the hands of our Editor in
Cheif, Chris smart.
We don't want to load the entire editing work onto his shoulders, though.
I do what I can, try to pare out pleasantries, as nice as they are, and
leave only procedures.
Sorry, lack of chattyness is why manuals are so dry, but when you're
trying to find an answer to a problem, you want to wade through as
little text as possible, right?
I leave human touches in notes though, I refuse to make them read like a
classic Roland manual, written by a Martian. smile.
I'll also post bundles of partly unedited notes, so people can have
access to these as quickly as possible.
Eventually our tips can grow into a coherent guide, or at least
individual wiki topics, the same as Cockos Wikis on individual Reaper
topics.Sometimes there will be duplication, two or three people on the
same topic, not a bad thing to get different viewpoints.
I know I can be terribly wrong at times and welcome anyone correcting
any wrong instructions in my own notes, it's a learning process.
When reading the Cockos forums, with detailed discussions by users who
have been using reaper from version 1, no two users will work the same way.
There can't be a single set way of doing things in Reaper, because of
its open and evolving structure.
Someone who wants to have the media browser become more accessible
should write about it in the Cockos forum where users talk about
desired changes.
The experienced users there often know other ways to access, other
approaches, and the browser, in its present form, may not be pleasing to
all sighted users either, and hopefully, it could be changed so it's a
pleasant experience, like Sound Forge's media browser.
