[RWP] bypassing a track effect for certain items, is it possible?

I got hot into learning midi editing just after getting the Behringer
BCF2000 ; so have for the time being shelved exploring how to do
automation from a control surface.
I did try 1 of the modes that controls some of Reaper, and definitely
control volume of audio tracks, 8 tracks at a time from the faders; then
shifting to the next 8, up to 32 tracks.
Also does panning per track with the pots at the top, etcetera, similar
to Tim Burgess's Mackie Display Reader for Sonar.
I haven't so far got a midi track to change volume from a fader on the
BCF2000, only audio tracks, don't know why, but I'll get back into
remotely controlling Reaper once I get more basic procedures understood.
Only tried 1 of the several possible configurations out there for
Reaper with the BCF2000, there are 3 or 4 more waiting to try, plus the
one most likely to work, Tim's forthcoming version 2, generic for Sonar,
Reaper, ProTools, for both mac and PC.
I don't think there's anything ReaAccess does that would prevent
automation from a control surface, even a single midi assignable fader
on any midi keyboard can do all possible automations; 1 automation type
at a time; 1 track at a time, so if you have at least 1 assignable
fader, that transmits midi CC messages, noone needs to feel shut out of
automation.
On many midi keyboards, not only faders, but the mod wheel and pitch
bend wheel are assignable to send out midi control change messages.
Any old piece of gear with assignable controls can do all possible
automations, no cost, except time or maybe sighted help required
assigning controls, and sometimes they're already assigned to the action
you need in Reaper.
An My Roland groove box from 1999 has a nice long throw fader
assignable by buttons above the fader to transmit midi volume or midi
clock rate; plus there are also 16 tiny faders that already send out
attack, decay, sustain, release, pan, volume, reverb parameters,
etcetera, for the groove boxes internal sounds, and those messages are
always transmitted out midi, no need to even find sighted hellp to
assign those, just try them to learn what they already change in Reaper.
Drag that old hardware sequencer or drum box out of the back of the
closet, dust it off, and find out what it already does in Reaper.
It doesn't need to be among Reaper's supported control surfaces, just
configure it in options/preferences ctrl+P as a midi device, and put a
check mark on transmit controller messages.
