Ok, if you use shift & down arrow or up arrow when not in multi track
selection mode, you can select consecutive tracks. If you do a shift space
on a track that will select that track and put you into multi track
selection mode which is where you can select nonconsecutive tracks with
shift space to select or deselect. When in this mode you can press shift
ctrl space to tell you which tracks are selected and you can press shift
escape to exit the mode and unselect all tracks and items.

Hope that helps, makes sence and makes up for my pre-coffee brain fart
incident this morning. <grin>
