[RWP] Lost The Insert Synth Shortcut

What a strange thing!
This morning I was trying to install Sound Forve 8, and it complained 
about needing the Microsoft Dot Net Framework Version 1.1, so; instead; 
  I followed advice and ran the installer with a, I think, .mci 
extension in the Sound Forge package.
Sound Forge installed and seemed okay, but when I opened it it said that 
the file could not be found, not saying what file could not be found; 
with a click on okay.
Sound Forge looked as usual  inside, with the usual folders, but I 
thought I didn't want a Sound Forge that is defective in any way, so I 
un installed Sound Forge, then downloaded Microsoft Dot Net Framework 
1.1  from Microsoft.com and installed it on my computer.

After installing dot net framework, ,before reinstalling Sound Forge, I 
noticed that my computer doesn't reboot properly, hangs up before 
Windows XP opens, and Reaper has lost the control Insert shortcut.
I always used control insert to insert soft synths, now I have to go to 
the insert menu and insert a synth from there.
Does anyone know whether Microsoft Dot Net Framework could cause such 
glitches?
Have you experienced changes in Reaper or other programs, or in your 
computer's reboot, after installing Dot Net Framework?
