Subject: Re: [RWP] "Some Components Are Not Found"
I have had this work just fine under Windows 7 32-bit, here is
what I did:
First make sure UAC is off.
start, key in user, look for change user account settings, then
set
slider to 0% hit ok/apply.
install reaper 3.76, later 3.7x versions might work.
Note that the required components is uncheckable because the
components
are required so you don't get a choice whether or not to install
them.
This means required components will install regardless of other
checkboxes.
Let reaper install. Once it is installed launch it and you will
get
messages about unpacking this configring that it only takes 5-10
seconds.
Now close reaper.
Run the reaccess installer and install all the screen reader
support it
doesn't hurt.
Now relaunch. Reaper should say "loading reaccess" or similar
and you
should be good to go.
I have not yet tried this with NVDA 2010.3 however it works with
2011.2
i'll test 2011.3 tomorrow.
Regards, Kerry.

Well as another poster said, us beginners do feel like babies!
It
appears Ive only had partial success at getting Reaaccess to
work on
my Windows 7 machine. When I fiddled around with our XP
machine,
(which isnt the one I want to use because its located in a
busy area
of the house), I could get access to all the controls I needed
once I
inserted a track and then inserted an empty item. I cant get
access
to those controls on my Windows 7 laptop. I can use all of the
menus,
but when I insert an empty item, Im just told its a loop item
when I
hit tab, and I cant manipulate it at all. Oh well, guess Ill
be
using that extra laptop after all! Interesting though that I
could get
it to work partially at least by just copying the program folder
across from my XP machine.

Rikki.

No worries. I just tried it on an XP machine with no problem at
all.
That at least gives me a couple of options, as I have another
laptop
with Jaws on it which is running XP. Im now going to try and
fool my
Windows 7 machine by copying the folder from the program files
directory on the XP machine onto my Windows 7 laptop, as I
really
would like to use this machine. Its a really nice setup.
Failing
that, Ill go with XP. That laptop needed to find a good use
anyway!

Rikki.

Yep, I see from below, that you already discussed this. Sorry.
When you installed reaper, did you mess with any of the optional
checkboxes? or did you just leave them at their default
settings.
Likewise when installing ReAccess.
If I were you, I would uninstall both of them, and reboot my
machine.
Then, install reper, leaving all selections defaulted.
Run reaper, an drink a really nice cup of hot tea while it
thinks
about itself, then close reaper.
Then, install ReAccess, leaving all selections defaulted.
If it still doesn't work, I would throw up my hands, and
conclude that
God didn't want me to do this.
I wish I could help further. Or, even at all, for that matter.
I'm ot an NVDA user, so I'm not sure if that has any impact, but
I
doubt it. I think several people are using that.

Hi,
I hate to be difficult, but I did all that! I even tried
going
back to version 3.78 and the same thing happened. Another
stupid
question, but is there a specific length of time I should
keep
reaper open. I dont get any prompts that tell me that any
kind of
setup has finished or to wait for a setup to finish. Im
stuck for
ideas now.
Thanks,
Rikki.

Sorry, I haven't followed this very closely. Appopogize if
stating the obvious.
Last I new about this was that, when you install reaper, you
first
needed to run reaper by itself, with outt installing
ReAccess.
That first run of Reaper did some further setup activities,
and
got things ready.
Then, you close reaper. Then, you should be ready to
install
ReAccess.
Maybe you should just uninstall everything, and run that
sequence.

Just some further information here. When I go to
install
Reaper, in the components, I am unable to check the
required
files component. I suspect this might have something
to do
with the scripts refusing to install, but Im just
guessing.
Is there a way around this issue in the Reaper
installation
process? Or is this checkbox not being checked relevant
at
all? Just a reminder that Im using NVDA. Perhaps its
an
accessibility issue with that particular check box on
second
thoughts, but again Im not sure.
Thanks,
Rikki.

Hi all,
I only found out about reaper and its accessibility
yesterday,
so please forgive me for revisiting a topic which I know
has
been covered following my web searches to find an
answer. Im
getting this same prompt that others have mentioned when
I
attempt to install the reaaccess scripts that some
components can not be found. I did run Reaper and then
exit,
both as suggested by the prompt and by another list
member,
but still no joy! Can someone tell me how to resolve
this
please? Im running Windows 7 32 bit.
Thanks,
Rikki.
