only if you are using effects outside of what reaper comes with. Reaper should scan all it's own effects without having to add anything manually...at least that's what it does on mine.
I only had to add the fx folder for additional effects plug ins that I wanted to use.
You should be able to add as many effects as your ram and processor will allow in one instance of reaper without having to manually add effects.

Colin

you have to add your effects list in reaper manualy. go to preferences, vst tab, and press add, then select folder with pluggins you want, then click ok button, then apply and ok button. Close reaper and open again. while it's opening, reaper will scan your new pluggins folder adding all effects to its list. remember, some of pluggins you install are not located in vst folder, that's why you need to add some of your effects manualy so that they'll be on reaper's effects list.

Subject: [RWP] one effect per load
Hello,
I'm running reaper 3.76 with windows XP and the latest version of ReaAccess. For some rather strange reason, reaper has recently developed a habit of only letting me add one effect every time reaper is loaded. I then have to save the project, close reaper, reload the project and add another one. When I attempt to add a second effect, it acts as though it's bringing up the effects list, but the window has no title, filtering / changing the tree view has no effect on the list, and I can't cancel out of it or press ok. This also means that if I forget to save and end up with this dummy effect dialog, I can't close it and get back to the project to save my place. I find this rather puzzling to say the least. If anyone has any ideas, pleas feel free to throw them at me.
Thanks in advance.
Simon
