Hello all,

I don't post too much here, but I am a proud Reaper and ReaAccess user
since the first version of ReaAccess came out.
So, after a year and a half of using Reaper 3 series, I decided to get
my hands on an upcoming Reaper 4, which is now in beta9 stage, and it
past over 60 alpha stages.
Well, so far I don't have too much to say. Nothing bad, and nothing
good. According to change log, they improved Reaper's accessibility for
Mac in V4. I hope they also fixed focus issues for Media Explorer,
though some code updating is also needed for ReaAccess, I guess.
Regarding the compatibility in Reaper4 with ReaAccess, also nothing bad,
since things seam working well. They also didn't make any big changes to
Reaper API except added some new functions, so compatibility with
ReaAccess shouldn't be broken. The issue what I found so far is the
ReaAccess configuration item appearing under the Items menu, instead of
the Options menu. BTW, Items is a new menu bar item in Reaper4, where
they are now putting options to manipulate items.
Regarding other changes, they have put something that will make it easy
to manage and replace files used by projects, media explorer time
selection and also some features to make FX manipulation easier, though
I didn't test this yet.
Other changes will be more interesting for sighted folks, so I think
it's not much important to mention them. What's the most important is
that they are keeping the accessibility, and the program also seams
working a bit faster.
For people who want to test Reaper 4, but also want to keep stable
Reaper 3, they have an installer option to install it in portable mode,
in which case the icons and registry keys are not created, the portable
copy may be kept in a different folder, and the settings of Reaper 3
will be used. However, you will have to manually copy ReaAccess files to
test it with Reaper 4 separately.
You can download latest beta version and see the full change log on the
following website: http://www.landoleet.org/
So far, I am quite pleased with Reaper 4 beta, and I will keep using it.
